•April 2, 2008 • 4 CommentsEmily was a good egg hunter this Easter. The ward had a Easter activity the Saturday before Easter Sunday and Emily had a lot of fun. The Friday before we decided to go to the beach and have fun. Everything was going good until Emily decided to surprise us with a blowout, we could deal with this distraction except we forgot extra diapers. Jennifer used a swimmey which worked so we could stop and get more diapers. We finally made it to the beach and we had allot of fun despite the cold water. Emily loves the water and didn’t want to get out at first but after awhile she wouldn’t go back in because it was so cold. We finlay had all the fun we could stand and headed out to eat. I thought it would be a lot of fun to drive down the strip in Panama City during spring break, NOT A GOOD IDEA!!! After we made it through the traffic and drunks we found a place to eat. We headed home after eating, hoping for no more surprises from Emily and our car decided to throw us a surprise. The belt broke and, like a dummy, I tried to keep going. I didn’t know that the belt was hooked to the water pump; my truck has the same engine but not the same belt arrangement and I only lost the power steering on it when a belt broke, so I thought the car would be ok. Pressure built up in the radiator and cracked it. Jennifer called her dad and he brought a trailer and piked us up around 1:30 in the morning. We made it home about 3:00a.m. and the next day was the Easter egg hunt and after 500 dollars the car is back up and running.
The Easter egg hunt was a lot of fun. Emily is an expert at hunting eggs and doesn’t need or want any help, and heaven forbid if you even touch one of her eggs. All in all, it was a lot of fun.
Dan’s family story
•February 26, 2008 • 4 CommentsFor any one interested in how Jennifer and I are doing here in Alabama were doing well. Jennifer is teaching seventh grade English at Eufaula middle school which is about an hour away from Dothan. Jennifer has just been asked to be the activates chairperson at church and with whatever time she has left she spends it with me and Emily. I am working at Phipps cabinet shop part time and going to Troy University now. I finished my associates degree last summer and now I’m trying to finish my bachelors degree in art education. I have about two more years left at Troy and eventually I want to get a masters degree in fine art so I can teach at a college level. I have been the scoutmaster at church for about four or five years now and I am the second counselor in young men’s. Withe whatever time I have left I spend it with Jennifer and Emily which is my favourite thing to do. Emily is growing up to fast! She has started walking in the past month and she goes around speaking gibberish all the time. Parenthood is interesting to say the least but I love my family and I’m learning how to be a better parent. Now that I have bored any one reading this I have to go to my next class.
I finally have a blog
