School, School, School

I cant Waite for this semester to be over with! I fill like i have sold my sole to Troy University. Every teacher wants to give me a project that is imposable to get done, and they think that there class is the only one I have. I also have a portfolio due tomorrow to get into the BFA program and I help take care of the printmaking lab for a scholarship I got this semester. I have 16 credit hours this semester and I will have 18 next semester so i could have my BFA after next fall semester and start my masters in art education spring of 2010. Both Jennifer and i would like it if school was done but it seems to drag on and on. This weekend I managed to get a little brake and went to the lake with my sail boat. The stupid motor had problems at first but i maneged to get it going. That was a nice six hours of enjoyment that I wish could last forever.

Jennifer is doing good. She is still teaching in Eufala, tho this years kids are harder to in joy. Emily is staring to talk ware you can almost understand what she is saying. I can hardly believe she will be two next month. She relay likes when i read to here at night now, but only me not mom. She likes Dr. Seuss’s “One Fish Two Fish Red Fish Blue Fish”. She will listen to any book but that one is her favorite one.

Other than that life goes on as normal.

  1. Hang in there Dan! I remember our kids loved Go Dogs Go, we got to the point where we could recite the whole board book without the book we read it so many times!

  2. So far my all time favorite kids book (although Emily is a little young for it still) is Dr. Dog by Babette Cole. The original, not the sequel. I nearly wet myself right there in the bookstore I was laughing so hard when I first read it.

Glad you got a chance to take a break. We’re getting spring fever here and Michael desperately wants to go fishing tomorrow but he’s stuck doing a plumbing job for a friend. I have a feeling I won’t see him much on Saturdays over the summer.

  3. It sounds like you are keeping really busy. I’m sure it gets really frustrating at times, but don’t give up, it will be worth it. You kids always liked the Dr. Seuss books, too. Post some new pictures of Emily when you can, so we can see how she is growing. It’s good you got a chnce to go sailing. You need something like that to make the work tolerable.

  4. Ahhh yes, the joys of school. Mom is right. I remember the worst semester which ended up being the best semester. That one was my 18 credit semester and a million other things. I diliberately took all of the hard classes in one shot. Caffeine is the only thing that got me through. There were many nights that I was in the lab all night long and in class and work the next morning. Fun times. It will be worth it in the end though. Dr. Suess is one of my favorites too. I really like one fish two fish red fish blue fish as well. I agree with Kerry though. Mom showed us Dr. Dog last time we were home. That is freaking hillarious.

  5. Well now I have to find a copy of Dr. Dog and read it. :D

  6. Another good children’s author is Mem Fox. Not quite as demented as Babette Cole but still very good. My kids love her books.
