The new sailboat is almost ready to go for the worm weather season. I got the motor out and cranked it up the other week. Charley and i were talking about going to cedar keys (these keys are about 4 hours away from dothan in the gulf side) sometime this summer. We figure it will take about a week to sail form port st. joe (about one and a half hours away from dothan) to cedar keys depending on the weather and if we sail at night or not.
I want to get the Hobie Cat sailing this year to. If i can save some money to fix it up.
If you are able to visit we can go to St. Andrews in Panama City for a few days and see what we can find there.
Dan….That sounds like a great time. I will have to work it in there somewhere. The nice thing about visiting you and Kerry is that year round trips to the beach are possible. I don’t know exactly what life will come up with in the near future. Things change on a regular basis in my field it seems. All for the better. I think I was essentially offered a job by my committee chair today. Originally I was going to do my master’s thesis on a project in Sandpoint and get paid for it. That won’t start until the end of the summer though. So, he offered to let me analyze metal artifacts from another site called Nora Creek as my thesis and that will have to happen this summer. Which means for all practical purpososes I could be done with my Masters program this summer. Which also means that it is also going to be a nightmarishly busy summer. I will start the research process for the sandpoint deal this week and will be paid for that. Once it is time to actually start analyzing artifacts from the site then I will probably just take that on as a job or potentially a doctoral dissertation. In either case everything is lining up really well and I will actually start getting paid for what I love to do soon. Anyway, not sure why I decided to dump all of that in your comments other than to point out that I do want to visit you guys sometime soon, but don’t know exactly when that will happen. Aunt Yvette and I are also conjuring up something as well that will affect my ability to come visit. I can’t reveal that just yet though. I’ll have to think on it and see if I can come up with a time. In the mean time I’m glad school is going well for you and that life is good for the three of you. You are working for Charlie again then? That is excellent. Tell Jenifer and Emily hello.
Joe whenever you can visit will be great! I know school and life can get really busy but the door is always open whenever you want to stop by.
Kerry I have a Catalina capre 18 the picture on my blog is what it looks like. I also have a 16 foot Hobe Cat catamaran sail boat that would be compared to a sports car for sailboats even though its older it sails fast when i don’t put cheep parts on it to hold up the mast. Michael is more than welcome to test them out and if he is into fishing I also have access to a small Mako center consul for scalloping, fishing, and diving. I can always use a fishing buddy.
Hey Dan, welcome to the madness!
I love the slideshow!
Welcome aboard Dan. I can hardly wait to come visit and try out the sailboat. I miss the ocean a lot.

What sort of boat do you have Dan? If I show this to Michael he’ll be there next week to go with you!
